    Classes taught at SPACE 2B:
Sound Meditation & Expressive Arts (Art, Movement and Mindfulness)
Tantra Massage (Individual & Group — Private Sessions)

    Background:

With a background in psychology and nearly 20 years in corporate, Janelle’s last chapter at a major tech company ended with burnout — and the beginning of something far more alive. That turning point led her to expressive arts, sound healing, and contemplative practices, including meditative teacher training.

Her foundation took shape through expressive arts therapy — weaving sound, movement, and visual arts with somatic and mindfulness practice. When tantric philosophy entered her life, it deepened everything she already knew: the body as a site of wisdom, the awakening of lifeforce energy, the balancing of inner polarities, and the quiet understanding that spirituality is not separate from living — it is the art of living authentically.

She holds a Graduate Diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy (SUSS), is a certified Expressive Arts Facilitator, trained sound practitioner, and trained in Tantra massage and remains a lifelong learner.

What first drew you to sound therapy, meditation, or contemplative practice?

Arts, sound, and movement have been part of my life for as long as I can remember — journaling, dancing, singing, painting as daily ways of expressing and making sense of myself. When a series of life events drew me deeper into expressive arts and mindfulness, it felt less like a discovery and more like a homecoming. A yoga retreat then introduced me to the resonance of handpan, gongs, and singing bowls, and something just clicked.

Why does creating space for rest and awareness feel important today?

Because rest and awareness aren’t a desire. They are a need. In a world that rewards constant output, pausing is an act of courage. We get so tuned into the noise outside that we forget to listen to ourselves. Creating that space — real and intentional — is how we remember.

What do you invite participants to experience during your sessions?

A structured, safe space to arrive as you are. No performance required. Through sound, movement, and art-making woven with mindfulness, I invite participants to lower the noise of everyday life and tune up their own inner voice — finding their way back to their own wisdom and compass.

What does "a space to simply be" mean to you?

Safe, peaceful, and free. A place where you don’t have to justify how you feel or what you produce. Just room to listen, to feel, and to let your own inner light shine through — from the chaos of life, gently, back to yourself.

How do you cultivate moments of presence or rest in your daily life?

Through nature — forests, oceans, the unhurried rhythms of water and wind. And through my own creative practice of painting, dancing, and singing. These aren’t hobbies. They are how I come home to myself.
