    CAMILLA

    Classes taught at SPACE 2B:
Embodiment Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra
    Background:

Camilla has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and teaching world wide for ten. Originally from the UK, she has lived in London, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Dubai and now Singapore. Camilla has practiced hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa flow, yin and yoga nidra. Her teaching has evolved from teaching an alignment-based and linear practice to a more free flowing creative flow which echos traditional yoga asana and philosophy and reaps its benefits but moves away from a ‘one posture/sequence fits all bodies’. Camilla guides individuals towards movements and holds that their body instinctively needs. Camilla hopes to empower students to move in a way that suits their own physical needs WITHOUT comparison or judgement and dissolve negative mental thought processes with the help of movement, breathing and meditation techniques.  Camilla also loves to teach Yin yoga and guided yoga nidra and hosts retreats in Singapore, Sri Lanka and Bali.

Why I practice yoga & meditation:

I started Yoga as a sport, and fell in love with it. I learn our amazing body through yoga and to be proud of my own body. After few years of learning purely in asanas, I realise our mind and breath will change and I actually can unite my body breath and mind. Slowly, I went into studying pranayama. With the practice of asanas and pranayama, I found that it really helps me in my meditation. Both Yoga and asana bring me to a different state of mind and thinking and this changes at a different stage if life. Yoga and pranayama will be my continuous learning journey, as you will always discover something new about yourself every time.

Why I teach yoga & meditation:

I believe in sharing what I have learned, especially when I realise how much there is to learn. I hope by sharing my knowledge, my students will practice more mindfully and always be able to appreciate their own effort and not just looking at the outcome.

What does “SPACE TO BE” look like to you?

I am lucky to meet Christina who introduce me to “Space 2B”. The moment I step in, I felt cozy and calm. I like the space and calmness of the space; I felt relax and my mind went into the asanas I can do in the space and the feeling of calmness which will help in my pranayama practice.

What does “LIVE SIMPLY” mean to you?

`Live simply’ means live a simple life, thankful with what we have and if possible contribute back to the society. We do not need branded things or fame, we just need our pure heart with compassion, kindness and love. Memories will be the one we bring along with us and not the worldly things.
