High Spirits Condor Bass ‘E’ — Walnut

Description

Handcrafted from a single piece of walnut, the Condor Bass ‘E’ has a beautifully soft, mellow voice with the clarity and resonance characteristic of this denser hardwood. Walnut also offers excellent durability and is naturally more resistant to dents and scratches than softer woods such as aromatic cedar or Spanish cedar, while giving the flute a slightly more substantial feel in the hands.

Tuned to E minor at 440 Hz, this low-pitched flute pairs beautifully with guitars and higher-octave flutes in the key of E, making it particularly suited to layered sound journeys, intuitive playing and musical accompaniment.

The Condor Bass is a six-hole flute and comes with a leather hole cover for the third hole from the top. Using the cover allows the instrument to be played as a five-hole flute, making it easier to begin with. As confidence develops, the cover can simply be removed to explore the full six-hole configuration.

At approximately 23 inches (58 cm) long, the Condor Bass offers a deeper, more resonant playing experience with a warm, grounding presence.
